Sarah Brown Gets Bold

Actress Sarah Brown made no bones about being unhappy with the direction of her character Claudia Zacchara on General Hospital. The mob princess was a menace to children and was responsible for Michael Corinthos Jr. being in a coma for months after an assassination attempt on Sonny went awry. Ironically, Brown is the originator of GH Carly Corinthos and gave birth on screen to young Michael more than a decade ago.  She tweeted her plans to leave the ABC drama a while back.  In between her GH stints as Carly Corinthos and Claudia Zachhara, Brown appeared on another CBS drama As the World Turns as the slightly crazy Julia Larrabee.

Now, Brown fans need not despair, the actress aired for the last time yesterday on General Hospital and will begin appearing today on The Bold and the Beautiful. In contrast to her previous bad girl roles, Brown is going to be playing the good girl this time around.  According to Soap Opera Central, the character’s name is Sandy Sommers. The character is reported to be likeable and goodhearted. She will also be mixing it up with Bridget (Ashley Jones), Nick (Jack Wagner) and Whip (Rick Hearst).  Brown and Hearst shared screentime on General Hospital as Ric Lansing and Claudia.  Jack Wagner is another GH alumnus. Brown is reportedly signed to a two year contract.
