Gilmore Girls Spoilers
From LoveToKnow Soap-Operas
Gilmore Girls spoilers refer to the popular television show of the same name which debuted on the WB Network in 2000. The series ran for seven years, six on the WB with the seventh and final series airing on the CW Network. The series ended with Rory heading off to join the press corps following the then potential nominee for the Democratic nomination for President: Senator Barack Obama. Fan speculation suggested that following President Obama’s election in 2008, Rory should return to Stars Hollow for a reunion movie.
Gilmore Girls Spoilers Remain Popular
Spoilers involving the Gilmore Girls remain popular due in large part to the show’s enormous popularity with its fans including Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello, a former television commentator and spoiler aficionado for TV Guide. A dedicated fan of actresses Lauren Graham (Lorelei) and Alexis Bleidel (Rory), Ausiello often features headlines such as:
- Gilmore Girl Admitted to ER
- Gilmore Girls Takes Broadway
- Gilmore Girls Reunion Movie Still Planned
- Final Words for Gilmore Girls Revealed
The headlines refer to the actresses in most cases, although in others they refer to the ongoing speculation of what show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino intended for the final four words of the series. The Palladinos left the show prior to the launch of the seventh season, leaving it to Executive Producer Dan Rosenthal.
The behind-the-scenes scrambling caused endless speculation and spoilers, particularly because Season Six ended on such a sour note for Luke and Lorelei fans. Sherman-Palladino claimed to have written the final scene of the Gilmore Girls many years before, much as J.K. Rowling wrote the final chapter of the Harry Potter series long before arriving at the final book. With the departure of the Palladinos as part of the creative and writing team, fans continue to speculate on what the final four words and scene would have been.
Post Gilmore Girls
Lauren Graham
Shortly after Gilmore Girls ended in 2007, Lauren Graham appeared on the big screen as wife to Steve Carell in Evan Almighty. Prior to the series ending she appeared in the Disney Vin Diesel comedy The Pacifier. Post series work keeps Graham busy working with Matthew Perry in Birds of America and playing the wife of Robert Kearns in the real life story Flash of Genius.
Graham scored headlines when she made a splash on Broadway playing a featured role in the classic Guys and Dolls. The talented Graham continues to delight fans with her post-Gilmore Girls work.
Alexis Bleidel
Rory Gilmore joined fellow teen stars America Ferrera (Betty, Ugly Betty), Amber Tamblyn (ex-Emily, GH) and Blake Lively (Serena, Gossip Girl) for The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. Bleidel reprised her role as Lena.
The headline Gilmore Girl Admitted to ER refered to Bleidel’s guest-starring role on the long-running series ER’s series finale on April, 2009.
Available on DVD
All seven seasons of the Gilmore Girls is available on DVD for purchase at retailers both online and off. Fan sites hold out a hope for continuation of the story via a television or direct to DVD movie. Any return to Stars Hollow, however, would require both Lauren Graham and Alexis Bleidel on board.
