GH scoops give super-fans of General Hospital a look ahead into the twists and turns in the plots of their favorite characters.

Some scoops written about General Hospital are actually scoops, meaning the writer somehow found some inside information about the show and has decided to tell the masses of General Hospital fans all about it. Of course, this is no guarantee that these events will take place in Port Charles as plots and storylines change often. Sometimes, these scoops are put out there as "teasers" to get folks to tune in. Cruel to the mega GH fan? Yes, but scoops like these keep all the fans tuning in - or at least setting your DVR to record episodes that are anticipated to be especially juicy and eventful.

Some GH Scoops are merely the opinion of the person writing the article. They write about information or gossip they've heard regarding the show and its characters. These opinions, based on the writer's knowledge of the long running soap opera, are fun and entertaining to read. Other types of GH scoops are actual scoops, meaning that they are sharing information with readers from inside sources at the show or in the industry. You often see these types of scoops in various soap opera magazines under the heading of "DVR/VCR" alert.

These "alert" days generally mean that on that particular day, you're going to want to tune in or record that days episode because some major event is going to happen to one of the show's character's. These major events range from the typical, like, Sonny gets shot (again) or it's an episode where two characters that have been staring longingly at each other for months finally admit their feelings for one another. If you don't really want to know what happens next and would rather watch the episode yourself, you may want to read GH scoops carefully. Most of the time, scoops and spoilers are lumped into the same articles and if you don't want to know what happens to your favorite characters (and maybe some not so favorite ones) be on the lookout for "spoiler warnings" and steer clear of articles that have them.

If you're like most fans though, you'll read the scoop and set your DVR to record because most fans just need to see things for themselves. Especially when a particular plot line is finally coming to an end (or to a head) like a mobster showdown or two characters finally admitting their in love with one another or the true father of somebody's baby is going to be revealed after months and months of covering it up or especially when a typically diabolical character gets his or her due. GH scoops are great not only to find out what happens next, but to check out which characters are leaving and which ones are moving back to Port Charles.
