Kristian Alfonso
Kristian has been playing Hope Williams Brady since 1984, and won a Soap Opera Award in 1999 for being television’s Hottest Female Star. Before she was an actress, she was an accomplished figure skater and was on her way to the top of her sport until an accident ended her career. Not one to easily walk away from the spotlight, she focused her attention on acting instead, and was soon appearing on Falcon Crest and Melrose Place. She lives in Los Angeles and is married with three sons.
John Aniston
You may be more familiar with another Aniston (Jennifer), but long before her career took off, her father John was a long time soap opera veteran. He was originally a stage actor, and today he plays Victor Kiriakis on “Days.” He has been playing this villain role since 1985, and has received numerous accolades for his daytime TV acting. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and is also fluent in Greek.
Deidre Hall
As one of the most famous actresses on daytime TV, Deidre Hall originated the character of Dr. Marlena Evans. From the start she has been a leading star of the Days of Our Lives cast. She has won countless awards and continues to be one of the most recognized soap opera faces around.
Alison Sweeney
Alison has been playing Sami Brady since 1993, when she was still a high school student. She has gone on to be an accomplished writer, and has also hosted a popular prime time reality show – The Biggest Loser. She has been on numerous sitcoms and family dramas, and she has been very public about her struggle to lose weight and her success at doing so.
Frances Reid
Reed has been nominated for two Emmy Awards and has won four Soap Opera Digest Awards. She’s been with NBC since the start of her career, and she loves to travel to exotic locales in her spare time. She’s 90 years old, and shows no sign of slowing down!
Awards Won By the Days of Our Lives Cast
Outside of their personal hobbies and great accomplishments in their storylines and fan bases, many Days of Our Lives cast members have gone on to win many awards for the show. Below is a short list of just some of the accolades received by various actors who have been on the soap over the years.
- 1975 – Susan Flannery won a Daytime Emmy as an Outstanding Actress, and the same year, her co-star Macdonald Carey won the male category.
- 1977 – Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes won Outsatanding Actor and Actress Soapy Awards. Frances Reid, Macdonald Carey, Josh Taylor, Andrea Hall and Jed Allan also won awards in varying Soapy Award categories the following year.
- 1980 – Meegan King and Tracey E. Bregman won Young Artist Awards for a Best Juvenile Actor in a Daytime series.
- 1989 – Michael Bays wins a Young Artist Award for the same category.
- 2000 – The Writers Guild of America awarded the Days of Our Lives cast with the recognition as Best Daytime Serial. In 1999 and 2000, the series also won Favorite Soap Opera at the TV Guide Awards.
The series continues to come out of various awards ceremonies victorious, thanks in large part to a dynamic and engaging cast with great chemistry and endless talent.
