Coronation Street Update

From LoveToKnow Soap-Operas

Attention, diehard fans: It's easy to get your Coronation Street update fix on a consistent basis. In fact, you can get those updates daily, thanks to the numerous sources devoted to providing legitimate news, spoilers and episode synopses regularly.

Oops, I Missed an Episode

You know how it goes. You're rushing to get in the door just in time to collapse on the couch and watch your favorite program. Traffic, though, has other plans for you, and before you know it you're missing the show. If you neglected to set up the recorder, you needn't worry that all is lost or that someone will spoil the episode before you've had a chance to see it. In this electronically driven day and age, it's easier than ever to play catch up even if you fall weeks behind.

Behind the Popularity

If you're a longtime fan, chances are you are already very familiar with the many Web sites devoted to Coronation Street. It's no fleeting thing that this program has established itself so permanently on the Internet. Coronation Street has been on the air since 1960, and has seen numerous cast members pass through its revolving doors over the years. In addition, storylines have run the gamut from tame to tantalizing, and in recent decades the program's most newsworthy plots have enjoyed immense media attention.

The actors, too, play a major part in the program's importance. While the core may well be those longstanding members who have lived on the street for years (and, in some cases, decades), the real draw for younger viewers are the inimitably fresh faces who also spend plenty of time on the covers of soap opera gossip magazines. It's no wonder that the show has such a following!

Get Your Coronation Street Update

Get your daily dose of Coronation Street updates the easy way – online. The only problem may be sorting out the types of updates you prefer! There are many to choose from, including:

Video Updates

If you aren't pressed for time and can comfortably settle down for half an hour, you can simply watch the program online. It's available to watch on the ITV Player, and episodes go back up to 30 days. In other words, there's no rush to catch up! If, for some reason, you're unable to view the ITV Player videos, you can usually watch some clips of the episode on YouTube, if not the entire thing!

Short Clips

Similarly, you can watch clips of Coronation Street on the program's official Web site. This area features clips from the latest episodes, news and gossip videos and clips of classic characters, as well.

Scene-By-Scene Updates

If clips and full-length videos from the site aren't convenient, another option is the scene-by-scene update offered by one of the most prolific Coronation Street Web sites, CSVU.net. Simply select the month and year first, then choose the specific episode date in the drop down menu. Updates date back to January 2006.

Written Updates

Get regular written updates of Coronation Street at Corrie.net, another Web site packed with information sure to please the ardent fan. Here, just click on the month in the corresponding year and scroll to the specific date. For detailed, in-depth updates, you can't do much better than this! This site also offers detailed updates of classic Coronation Street episodes dating back to 1960, as well as summaries for episodes from recent years. And if you've missed anything (and unless you've watched the show faithfully since its first run, chances are you probably have!), you can read a month-by-month review of the show in the section called "The Whole Story."

Drawbacks

There are some drawbacks with certain types of updates. If you're interested in instant gratification, you won't get it from a scene-by-scene update. And normally, videos aren't posted immediately after the program airs, although you probably will only have to wait a little while. Written updates, too, aren't immediately posted online, but you can count on seeing them within a couple weeks of the program's airdate. Your best bet is to tape the program or catch it online – either on ITV Player or YouTube – on the day it airs.
