All My Children Soapzone

All My Children SoapZone is one of the fan communities hosted at the SoapZone website. The roots of the site began as Port Charles Online(PCO). The website owner created the site in order to meet and connect with other fans of the General Hospital spinoff Port Charles. Many of the fans turned out to be fans of the other daytime dramas and eventually PCO evolved into SoapZone. SoapZone.com is broken into different sections focusing on different soaps.

ABC Soap Opera Scoops

SoapZone.com is free for visitors to read, but access to posting on the message boards requires a fee. The fee is nominal and helps the website owner maintain his cost and bandwidth. The Newsroom provides several popular fan features.

The Scoops and Spoilers section is updated weekly and provides updates on what is happening over the next week to ten days on All My Children. The news is gathered from several different sources and compiled into an easy to read format. As with all spoilers, readers are given the caveat that nothing is set in stone until it airs on television.

The News and Gossip section is maintained by Carol Banks Weber. She compiles information from several different soap opera news outlets including Soap Opera Digest to help All My Children fans stay abreast of the latest news and casting changes with regard to their favorite daytime soap.

The daily updates section was designed to provide All My Children viewers with daily updates of the show. It has not been updated since 2007. The message boards often feature ‘live watching’ posts that serve as recaps.

Each week, the latest ratings are posted so viewers can see how their soap opera is doing.

The event calendar is updated periodically so fans can track where their favorite actors may be appearing both onscreen and off.

The communities section of SoapZone.com is highly interactive. The communities section is primarily what fans are seeking when they visit.

The message boards are described as interactive bulletin boards where fans may exchange messages with other fans. Reading the message boards is free, but users who wish to post must register an account. The message boards feature debate, flame wars, live posts and much more. The members of the SoapZone community are very passionate about their likes and dislikes.

The chat room feature allows fans to interact in ‘real time.’ The chat rooms are often used for special events such as the Daytime Emmy Awards.

The member profiles section is designed to allow fans to interact with other fans with similar interests. Most fans interact via the message boards, but you can update your profile to get to know other fans.

The registration desk allows members to register accounts, create their initial profile and pay the subscription fees in order to post on the message boards.

SoapZone offers other features including communities for other soap operas, the voting booth where registered members can create and vote in polls. SoapZone remains a thriving fan community with an established fan base for favorite characters and definitive opinions.
